Zorza Poranna, which is the Polish name for "Dawn", is a new accommodation in beautiful, welcoming and versatile Poland catering to those interested in agritourism. We are situated in the Kaczawskie Mountains (the land of extinct volcanoes) in the small village Dobków in Lower Silesia. Dobków is at the heart of a quadrilateral area formed by Jelenia Gora, Zlotoryja, Jawor and Bolkow. South-western Poland.
This area holds many cultural and historical places to visit. There are many small towns with historic centers, old churches and museums. There are also plenty of castles and country houses in the area. For example, if you want to make a day trip, the castles in Czocha and Ksiaz are very nice to visit.
There are the monasteries of Kreszow and the wooden “peace churches” of Jawor, and a bit further away, in Swidnica, there are several historic buildings which have been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. If you are looking for an active program, there are many sporting possibilities such as diving, mountain biking, quad adventures, para-sailing, and a variety of climbing, walking and hiking routes. You can even go fly-fishing if that suits you.
The land here in Wintertime is perfect for skiing (downhill and cross-country) and snowboarding. Lower Silesia is also a popular environment for nature lovers and those who are looking for peace and quiet. This area is a so-called ‘bio-area’ and has a rich diversity of flora and fauna. It’s one of the oldest protected areas of Europe and holds a very colorful landscape of lovely farmers fields, forests and wild rockformations.
Here you can find a variety of plant species and many rare weeds such as rough lithospermum, Larkspur, cornflower, etc. Along with the many field birds, there are many birds-of-prey, such as the Red Kite, the Golden Eagle and the Peregrine Falcon.
In our own fields you will often see Storks and with a little bit of luck you could spot a Black Stork. Lurking around our accommodations you will find roes, deers, wild boars, badgers, hares, foxes, and sometimes the muflon. Rockcollectors and enthusiasts will find, particularly in the Kaczawskie Mountains, many well known minerals and ornamental and semi-precious stones such as agate, chrysoprase, Jasper, mountain crystal, lidiet, nephrite and magnesite.
There is certainly enough for children to enjoy here. Some examples of what can be found with a visit to Western City include: a number of swimming pools, expertly guided expeditions in search of beautiful minerals and horseback riding. Young or old may also take part in a very highly recommended ceramics workshop here in the village. In any event, children will have fun in and around our accommodations. We are the last farm in the hills with hundreds of hectares of fields, trees and flowers behind us. It's an ideal place to rest and enjoy nature, away from the stresses of modern life.
